From Vision to Craft – Discover the Piteraq by Christian Ulbricht

We are delighted to present to you our anniversary figurine, Nutcracker Piteraq. We had the privilege of designing and realizing this piece in collaboration with the company Christian Ulbricht GmbH & Co. KG. It has been produced in a limited edition of only 250 pieces. Both the base and the original packaging bear the limitation number, and the nutcracker stands 40 cm tall. 

Since 2001, we have been distributing Erzgebirgische Volkskunst (Ore Mountain folk art) as an online retailer, and in 2016 we opened our specialty store for Erzgebirgische Volkskunst in Oelsnitz / Vogtland. Together with our loyal customers, we would like to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the “Holzlädchen” specialty store and the 25th anniversary of the company Saxonpark, and we hope that you will enjoy our two special creations.

All orders (including those already placed) for our Christian Ulbricht Piteraq nutcracker will be collected until December 15, 2025. Each nutcracker has a limited edition number, which also serves as a lottery number. Three attractive prizes will then be drawn from the orders.
The model selection will be based on the winner's preference and availability. The drawing will take place on December 16, 2025, and the winner will be treated anonymously.
Afterward, we will hand over/ship all prizes to the lucky winners by December 24, 2025.

Nussknacker Piteraq
The namesake of our figurine is the Greenlandic katabatic wind Piteraq.Greenland is the vast, silent land of ice, snow, and stone, lying under the eternal play of light and darkness. A land of contrasts with the endless white of glaciers and the deep blue of the sky. Here, time passes more slowly, and nature takes its course in majestic tranquility.

When the Piteraq rises, Greenland is shaken by its immense power. It sweeps over the glaciers with raging speed, unleashing strength and biting cold. It whips up snow that joins with the wind, creating a wild dance of flakes.

When the storm is over, it leaves behind only silence and the grandeur of a fascinating nature that, in its vastness and force, teaches humanity humility. Respected by the locals of Greenland, it is deeply rooted in the history of the land, reflecting both beauty and danger.
